Rakwon is a bi-scriptual typeface (Latin and Hangul) designed with the consideration of optical sizes. Started with the initial curiosity of finding a Latin typeface to go well with the Hangul typeface found in Pyongyang Metro, North Korea, this project was expanded to create a bi-scriptual typeface with common features that connect two scripts. Translating functional inktraps found in the text size into a design feature for the display size, Rakwon uses inktraps as a not only practical but also unique feature that brings two scripts together.
